  • If the patient gets irritated, throwing things and shouting, to prevent this, sometimes careworker restrain the patient , without checking the restraint area, may leads to lack of blood circulation, sometimes injury in the hospital scenario.
  • A patients fall from bed to tthe floor is considered as negligence and unintentional injuryin the hospital environment
  • Self harm and assaults are considered as intentional injury
  • Self poisoning, Hanging, Using drugs overdose, Using more sedatives are intentional injury
  • Assault by sharp objects,Blunt objects,sexual assault,Homicide, Gun shoot are examples of intentional injury
  • Road traffic injuries, Plane crash, Train accidents, Fire and burn are unintentional injuries
  • Recently in India, at Amritsar, a loco pilot ( Train Driver) ran over nearly 50 people leads to many deaths and injury. It is an Unintentional injury but many people who are died were educated, Breadwinner of the families. We can imagine the aftermath of a death of main person in the family ( breadwinner). In india father is the breadwinner, mother is a homemaker, and children job is only to study. They are not allowed to part time work, which is miserable. So what will happen if the breadwinner of a family died. It not only affects children education but also their future life
  • Intentional injuries like bomb blasting. Many people became handicapped. Many people lost their near ones. Mental trauma in the community. Children lost their parents, parents lost their children. Death of a spouse, which is considered as the most mental pain.
  • The root causes are, Unemployment, Lack of education, Extreme religious views, Poverty,Greedy, Corruption, dirty politics, Mental Disorders.
  • Our health is not only mental and physical but also spiritual health.
  • To prevent this, compulsory education to all children, prevent child labour, Increase in job opportunities, Rehabilitation of terrorists, democratic government, Avoid corporal punishment at school, Provide measures to prevent poverty. Encourage people to live spiritually rather than following extreme religion views
  • Be social, Punishments for corruption, Strict traffic rules, Punishment for drunk and driving, Increase in rehabilitation centres for mental health disorder patients. Provide measures to tackle terrorism.
