Answer: Fluoridation of public water supplies an effective health promoting strategy to reduce the risk of fluoride content. Because due to fluoride deficiency tooth decay is the most common problem face by the people. It reduces the risk of dental caries and hence fluoridation is a good idea to provide through the water supplies. The optimum addition of the fluoride in the water can be beneficial for the public. But if there will be presence of fluoride in excess, then it may causes bone degradation, tooth Mottling etc. But it depends upon the use of the water as well as the content of fluoride. The alternative for this can be providing fluorinated foods and supplements.
