The physical assessment to assess the Adrenal Medulla Catecholamines are

  • Anxious ,emotional outburst ,tensed due to release of the stress hormone (adrenaline, noradrenaline, cortisol, dopamine)
  • Increased heart rate and blood pressure due to release of adrenaline
  • Polyuria, polydipsia, dry skin, headache, weakness or extreme fatigue due to release of cortisol which elevates the blood sugar levels
  • Orthostatic hypotension, anxiety, weight, metabolic changes die to increased catecholamines release in case of pheochromocytoma
  • Increased body weight die to adrenal steroid release
  • Weight loss lean fat can be a sign of adrenal insufficiency
