  1. Asses the patient PR(pulse rate ) before taking digoxin if PR <60 withhold medication and inform physician.
  2. Yes, check the s. electrolytes ie hypokalemia, hypercalcemia and hypermagneemia increased the risk of digoxin toxicity. It is a life threatening condition. Also check whether patient taking diuretics, antidiarrheal drugs which causes hypokalemia.
  3. Administration of one half of total dose initially then one fourth of total dose every 6-8hours for 2doses.
  4. 0.0625 mg initial dose and 0.03125 every 6-8hours for two dose.
  5. This improve hearts ability to pump blood and improve symptoms such as shortness of breath.
