Cardiac muscle appears like striated due to the organization of muscle tissue into sarcomeres..smooth cardiac muscle tissue, contraction occurs by excitation contraction coupling (ECC)..cardiac muscle contain tubular cardiomyocytes or cardiac muscle cells..These cardio myocytes composed of tubular myofibrils,it is a sacromeres muscle tissue...Intercalated disc transmit electrical action potential between sarcomeres... sarcomeres is the basic unit of muscle tissue in cardiac muscle..This sarcomeres connected to a plasma membrane by T- tubules, it will increase the rate of depolarization with in the sarcomere..each sarcomere has long, fibrous proteins that interact each other when muscle contracts..

There are 2 proteins involved in this,that is myosin and actin..It binds ATP,Actin molecules are bound to the Z- disc..This myosin and actin forms myofibrils,repearting molecules structure of sarcomere..cardiac muscle tissue, responsible for transmission of action potential and calcium during muscle contraction..other tissues besides cardiac muscle are

- Adherens junction

- Desmosomes

- Gap junctions

calcium- induced calcium release ( CICR) it influx calcium ions into the cell, trigger release of ions into the cytoplasm..
