PROBLEMS INSTRUCTIONS #3 _ 4 points Suppose that from the past experience a professor knows that the test score of a student taking his final examination is a random variable with mean 75 and standard deviation 8. How many students would have to take the examination to ensure, with probability at least 0.94, that the class average would be within 2.5 of 75? Hints: Your answer is a number of people so consider if you should be using decimal values. Try the problem on your own before reading the following hints to gain some practice for the exam. It could be good to cover them up so you are not tempted to read them as you work This is a challenging problem but I would strongly encourage you to start by finding the two test scores that 94% of the student would fall between. Further it might be useful to sketch a curve with these values and to denote the area between these values to gain a visual idea of what the problem is telling you. From here it might be good to start to standarize the problem.
