Velocity is vector quantity,it has both magnitude and direction .So, we have to calculate magnitude of the velocity .
Kinetic energy =1/2*m*v^2
Where v is the magnitude of the velocity
m is the mass of the object.
Why is velocity not used to directly calculate kinetic enegry?? Someone give me a easy answer...
