1). Health issues of African Americans:

The Afro-American population consensus is higher in USA currently due to higher immigration rate from other African countries. Since, past 300 years, Afro-Americans have been facing extreme discrimination and suffering from social and mental brutalization. As pr recent population consensus, immigration rates have contributed to observed mortality rates for African-American groups. The socioeconomic status and generational status due to past treatment have resulted low quality health care to immigrants. The better health is delivered to those getting higher income based on socio-economic status. However, African-American families are obtaining the currently low level of health-care-insurance access compare to white population & Hispanic paradox. The changes in the status level of black immigrants have caused a low level of socio-economic status in different communities of USA.

Researchers have illustrated the health care issues of the African-American population in the USA due to some socio-economical differences, ethnic differences. National data from many Afro-American Health Interview Survey has depicted higher “black-white mortality hazard ratios” observed based on income and education & occupational status. The higher incidence of psychiatric disorders, mental illnesses, depression, anxiety, social stigmatization, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the African-American population has observed solely due to racial health care disparities.

The indicators of blood pressure that denote hypertension and inflammation risk & metabolic diseases & other chronic diseases are higher in Afro-American people. The blacks and a higher incidence of these diseases compared to normal range due to more “socio-economic” risk factors, level of education and occupational status.

The rate of healthy behaviors is declining in blacks and the majority of them are becoming addicts to drug abuse, substance abuse, and smoking. In the United States (US), substance abuse is a general problem, the need to focus on a specific population is increasing in this scenario. The onset of alcoholism and other drug problems occurs at an earlier age in African-Americans in comparison to whites. Also, the likelihood of being channeled to the system of criminal justice, drug-related homicide deaths, health complications caused by substance abuse such as oesophageal cancer and liver cirrhosis were also reported higher in African-Americans. The problem of substance abuse was compounded in the Africa-Americans by a sharp rise in problems associated with crack cocaine use.
