As a medical assistant responsibility, they have to answer patient questions about their medical conditions, medications, etc. Explain the patient about prostate cancer that occurs in the prostate as a small walnut-shaped gland in men. It grows slowly and requires less or no treatment initially. It occurs due to increasing age, family history of cancer, obesity, etc. You will have symptoms like bone pain, erectile dysfunction, trouble urination, less urine output, blood in the semen. It complicates if you left untreated as it spread to the bladder and nearby organ. It can be diagnosed through the digital rectal exam and prostate-specific antigen test, ultrasound, MRI fusion. treatment option includes it is not needed immediate treatment right away when cancer progress it needs surgery or radiation. surgery option includes removing the prostate gland called radical prostatectomy and surrounding tissue including few lymph nodes. the doctor will decide the type of treatment they select for your age, body type, risks, and overall health.
