i) flow rate - Usually all compounds will move slower on polar columns, but polar compounds will show a larger effect. flow rate of the gas through the column speeding up the carrier gas flow increases the Speed with which all compounds move through the column a) Molecular weight - - Moleallar o weight of a components are also affect on the flow rate retension time. The Shape of molecules is also effect on the retension time. If the molecular weight is high decrease the flow rate which is decreased the retension time. As the moleccelar wt is low flow rate is high. i-e retension time is faster.
