When an antigen enter the body by means of inhalation, ingestion,or inoculation, the antigen is taken by Antigen presenting cells (APCs) and processed them into small fragments of peptides and presented to on the surface of APCs by use of  major histocompatibility complex (MHC) for T Cell Receptor (TCR) recognition.T helper cells (CD4+) are specific to these peptides and MCH, they recognize them and become activated to  produce cytokines. This cytokines activate cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL), antibody-secreting B cells, macrophages and other particles to produce immune response. These type of antigen is called Exogenous antigens or foreign antigens.
