How has spending on poverty changed over time in terms of types of support and types of programs. How has this change affected the distribution of poverty spending among the poor?

Ways to eradicate poverty has changed over time. In this answer, I will be lucidly speaking about some ways the Indian government has adopted to eradicate poverty.

A) in terms of support: (some of them are discussed)

i) Creating employment opportunities: if new jobs will be created then people disposable income will increase, which will enable them to come out from the situation of poverty.

ii) Hiking the minimum wages: if the minimum wage of labourers will be hiked then it will improve their standard of living.

iii) Implementation of Earned Income Tax Credit in the USA helps millions of children after their schooling to improve their standard of living.

iv) equal pay for women and men: this will increase the average income of the population which will have a positive effect on their standard of living.

v) if the government is investing in education and health care programme of children, then this will become a positive boost for them.

vi) Proper functioning of PDS: public distribution system (PDS) is used to provide grains and other necessities goods at a subsidized rate.

B) In terms of programme: (some of them are discussed)

i) Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY): it is a financial inclusion scheme for the poor.

ii) Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMGAY): it indicates the housing scheme for the poor.

iii) Atal Pension Yojana (APY): Aimed at pension schemes for people who are not working in the formal sector.

iv) Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY): this target infrastructural development in rural areas.

v)Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY): this scheme provides crop insurance for the poor.

vi) Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA): it ensures 100 days of employment to every rural citizen of India.

thus through these policies and different ways of supporting poor have a positive impact on the poor. The government is spending to increase the standard the living of the poor by enhancing their human capital, by providing education, skill development programme, the government is also furnishing their standard of living by giving electricity, house development loan at a very subsidised rates, it is also providing food to them through public distribution system.
