This form of communication was used during a class presentation, where I wanted to give my undivided attention to presented information to me I gave them eye contact, nodded in agreement, and smiled. My purpose for using such emotions was to show that I was interested and liked what they were presenting. In addition, I was not laying my head on my desk, instead, I sat up with a straight posture. I understand that if I was frowning, had my feet up on the desk, and avoiding eye contact, then that could be taken as an insult the speaker. When I went out to dinner, I dressed in a way that was appropriate for the situation. I am aware that people make impressions about you based on the way you dress and express yourself. Along with my outfit, I kept a smile on my face to show people that I am a happy and nice individual. I dressed and expressed my facial expressions in a way that reflected my personality In my personal.opinion, the main differences between verbal and nonverbal communication is that verbal communication refers to the use of language that can be heard and is used to exchange words with others. Verbal communication includes the action of speaking, and sounds. Communicating without words refers to non-verbal communication. It includes facial expressions, gestures and body movement. Furthermore, nonverbal communication is more ambiguous than verbal communication, but it can really depend on the situation. The reason behind nonverbal communication being considered a challenge is because ones nonverbal messages can be interpreted in so many different ways to different types of people. Such a challenge can cause misunderstandings. In addition to the reasoning of nonverbal communication being more ambiguous than verbal communication, other contributing factors like culture, experience, and surroundings influence the meaning of nonverbal behaviors. Nonverbal communication is important for the sharing of information between people and in groups. It includes eye contact, facial expressions, body gestures, and posture. It increases the trust, clarity, and understanding of the presentation. It is essential for effective communication. It gives clues for additional information. Eye to Eye contact attracts the speaker directly. Facial expressions of happiness, smile, sadness show the level of understanding to the speaker. Body posture shows the interest in the presentation.

But some form of nonverbal communication is not commonly accepted all over the world. Nonverbal communication is influenced by the cultural, behavioral and geographical factors. In the USA, UK the nonverbal communication is widely used and accepted form of communication. But in Italy and some middle east countries thumb up is considered as offensive form. Same way, In Japan showing of ok by joining the thumbs and forefinger, is taken as a sign of money. Some of the eastern cultures, women are discouraged from maintaining eye contact because they considered as unrespectful. Some of the cultures not allowed to shake their hands and touch as they believe as unhygienic practices. Some Asian cultures discourage the nodding of the head by children. So using worth gestures and expressions is ideal for nonverbal communication. Otherwise, it becomes irrelevant and distracts the communications.
