Significant labor movement and revolt was foreseen after First Woeld War Concluded.

The first has been the rise of the autoworkers in the 1930s and 1940s, which led in the middle class boom in the area.

The second has been the struggle for civil rights, a movement in which unions played major role in averting situation  

The third inflexion point is large influx of foreign competition to USA auto industry which resulted to immediate and large scale structural layoffs in the workforce.

In 1986, there were about 600,000 union jobs in the Detroit metropolitan area itslef and today we have pnly about 200,000 union jobs

The unionshave faced a congegation of forces which are just astonishing to a large extent, labor doesn’t have a significant voice which can results in mass movements and they come to rise when it’s too late which makes the implications vulnerability to exploitation .

Labot unions have been largely ineffective due to rising autocratic power as well as after Effects of Great Depression in 1932 which saw massive unemployment and poverty. Such situations were dynamically used to empower low industrial standards wages and also over exploitation of wirkers. Laws back then were not stringent and labir unions were faced with corruption charges which rendered them ineffective in mitigating such situations .

Moreover with entry of Auto Industry and large scale foreign labor and rising free trade with Cross border nations, labor got competitive and supply exceeded demand which further deteriorated wages and gave rise to unemployment for unskilled labor. Many discouraged workers tried to fight back but in vain.
