Answer #1

Among all the 12 tenets of patient's bill of rights, the right to considerate and respectful care is considered the most important bill of right as it protects the patient from being ill treated and misbehaved by any health care team members which include physical, sexual or verbal abuse. Each patient is unique and has the right to be treated based on individual needs. A patient has the right to have personal possessions unless it is medically contraindicated or cause any harm to co-patients. This bill helps the patient to be aware that health care team should provide health care services while considering a patient's cultural, social and psychological backgrounds so as to provide comprehensive care.In this regard, a holistic and patient centered approach will be used to meet needs that helps patient to feel respected.Health care professionals would be empathetic towards and respect patient's dignity and autonomy in decision making on treatment regimen.
