Answer #1

Meperidine is the type of the high potent narcotic analgesic used to control the extreme surgical and obstetrical procedure.

The patients taking the meperidine should avoid Smoking as there may be stimulation of metabolic enzyme CYP1A2, which reduces its effects in the body, by lowering its bioavailability.

Meperidine also contraindicated with the monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors as it may lead to hyperphenylalaninemia and may result the cases of the coma and high respiratory depression.
