1. As a nurse, you are a part of the multidisciplinary team. While working in a hospital, you are able to interact with individuals from several different specialties.

Describe your experience in coordinating services with occupational therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, registered dietitians, and social workers. If you have not had this experience, describe the interactions that you have witnessed in the healthcare setting.

What do you believe the benefits are to working with individuals within these specialties?

2. A child is experiencing unusually high activity and is diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The child is admitted to a mental health facility that incorporates a multidisciplinary approach. When the child returns to school, an individualized education program (IEP) is developed.

Describe the role that a school psychologist, occupational therapist, social worker, and a registered dietitian would play in the care of this child.

Explain the purpose of the IEP and what is included in an IEP.

3. After being assessed by an occupational therapist, it is determined that Katie, a 38-year-old woman, would benefit from sensory integration.

Describe the systems, components, purpose, and dysfunction manifestations identified in sensory integration.

1) A nurse always works under a environment with varied health care professional for a patient. For instance she comes across the medication prescriber (psychiatrist) ,a person or expert who care for emotional recovery (psychologist) to meet the appropriate diet for the patient ( nutritionist), encouraging them to learn some type of work ( occupational therapist) and participating in variety of social activities ( social worker)

Working together enhances team work and improves the quality of care for the patient.

2)Individualized education plan is provided by the school to special children or children with certain disability to learn the curriculum specially designed and reviewed by the team periodically.

Thus helps the children to learn,support and makes parents participate in the education system.

The psychologist helps the student in communication and their way of thinking and behavior

The occupational therapist tries to teach them work that may help them to meet their financial needs

The dietician plans the diet according to the child's activities and needs

The social workers make the child to participate in programs, camps etc.,

3)Sensory integration are the senses of body like touch,smell,hearing, seeing and taste. Here the patient may have a loss of these sensation. Usually the children's are exposed to repeated activities of sensory and the actions are stimulated.The other senses like proprioception ,vestibular,interoception.They include a sensory integration therapist teaching about the minute changes and senses.The main purpose being trying to recover patient senses back at least minimally to lead a good quality life.
