Answer #1

HCG is called as a human chorionic gonadotrophin,it isa hormone that secreted after successful implantation of fertilized egg and typically takes 7 to 12 days. There after the the placenta is continue to secrete the this hormone that may be detected in the pregnant women urine and blood. One can confirm her pregnancy by detecting th presence of HCG in urine or either by a blood test.

Normally 5-7days afer a missed period the HCG may be secreted in the blood and urine, and continue to be secreted in to the blood till 9-10 weeks of pregnancy there after the levels will be off.

For a 25 year old woman had a missed menstrual period, and she have a history of regular periods normally she can suspect pregnancy after 7 days of her missed period, during this time period if fertilization has been occured hcg start secreting from the syncytiotrophoblastic layer of placenta.

Here 25 year old woman had a missed menstrual period 3 weeks ago,During the blood test or in the urine test sows a negative result no need to go for a repeat test. Why because normally ovulation and fertization has been occured in a 14-16 day after a menstrual period or we can say a average of 12-20 days after a menstrual period.if in case she is pregnant normally six days after fertilization the hcg can be detaect in blood and urine and the level is continue to rise rapidly or doubling every 2 to 3 days.If even after 3 weeks of a misssed period (nearly 21 days) if hcg is not detect in the blood or in urine she is not pregnant. We can rule out for some other reasons for her missed period other than pregnancy such as :

*any hormonal imbalances

*PCOD

*stress

*cardiovascular disorder

*any endocrine disorders etc
