Today ’s nursing education is more Intense and involves a formal Training. All educational pathways provide an intense science and practical skills-based education. The responsibility of the nurses has improved with the stronger education foundation like advanced practice nurses.
The advancement of technology also has a great impact on nursing. Technology has reshaped the nurse’s role today as it helped nurses become more accurate and efficient. As an example the digitalization of patient’s records which helps to maintain more accurate records with minimal errors. The development of better monitoring devices also aids the nurse’s jobs.
Many certifications and advanced nurse training programmes are also available for nurses to upgrade their knowledge. New nursing specialities like forensic nursing and bioinformatics have also aroused. The demand of nurses in fields of radiology nursing, cardiac nursing, and geriatric nursing is also more.
Many states allow nurses to provide even primary care services as the advanced nurse practitioner. The area of nurse’s jobs also has widened as medical offices, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, schools, correctional facilities, and home health care services. One of the new trends in nursing is travel nursing and is growing in popularity. There is more flexibility in nurse’s jobs as per their schedule, and lifestyle preferences.
More nurses are involving in continuing education programmes to upgrade their body of knowledge. The evidence-based practice also becomes more popular in nursing and which improved the practice standards. The salary potential of nurses has also grown in past years.
