Discussion
Improving patient care and outcomes is paramount to the practice of nursing. As we conclude our learning journey through our world of research and evidence-based practice, it is important to reflect upon your time spent in the course:
Barriers for engaging in EBP:-
1.Lack of time
2.Lack of Knowledge about EBP
3.Lack of resources
4.Lack of support from the organization
5.Lack of interest
Strategy to facilitate the use of evidence to help improving nursing care for patients:-
1.Workshop for nurses to understand the importance of EBP.In the workshop, explain how to search the various available databases such as COCHRANE, JOANNA BRIGGS, etc.,
2.Reward System for nurses for utilizing pieces of evidence and provide nursing care.
3. Encouraging nurses to carry out research to find the effectiveness of available pieces of evidence.
Through the above ways, we can facilitate better utilization of the evidence to improve nursing care for patients.
Describe how your thinking has changed about nursing research and evidence-based practice:-
By the end of the course, I understood the importance of Nursing research how it helps in adding new knowledge to the body of nursing. Evidence-based practice helps to improve the patient outcomes as we use the best available evidence based on our judgment considering patients' best interests. Through evidence-based practice, we can utilize the findings of research studies.
Describe one new learning during this course that you believe was the most helpful:-
Through this course, I learned how to carry out systematic reviews, how to search the databases and preparation of PICO's. It was interesting to know something new which I was not aware of previously and which helps me with the nursing practice

We begin our journey into discovering the new world of research and evidence-based practice (EBP) by exploring our past. After completing the required readings and lesson, answer the following: Explain how research has evolved since the Florence Nightingale era. Discuss how research and EBP are different; include how you believe research supports EBP for nursing. Describe one past/historical unethical breach of research conduct; then, share how you would ensure care of a study participant using one ethical or legal research...

Improving performance to ensure safe and effective patient centered care outcomes often requires a change in nursing practice at the bedside. Give two examples of how you can use performance improvement and patient safety concepts to promote evidence-based patient centered care at the bedside. Include how you will you use change management to engage the staff into your performance improvement projects.
Discussion - Daily Routine Clinical judgment in our daily practice can influence how we (nurses) take care of our patients. Our everyday care of our patients also incorporate ethical care and charting. Why should nursing include evidence-based practice into their daily routine?
