Prejudice:
Prejudice has an inflexible and irrational attitude from one group
to another. Prejudice negative forms cause discrimination.
Prejudice against racial and ethnic minorities for mistreatment and
persecution. Many prejudices come from parents to children like
ethnic minorities, gays, women, elders, and disability. Prejudice
brings support from others, when rejecting prejudices it leads to
loss of social support. It increases economic benefits when a group
of people focuses on competition for jobs. It brings out an
authoritarian personality that comes from parents to children.
Ethnocentrism helps to evaluate other cultural norms and values
which involve in stereotypical thinking. Prejudice benefits with
group closure with clear boundaries for many processes. Conflicts
theory hold their social states, powers, privileged groups that no
competition from a minority group.
Privilege:
Many majority cultures in the united states having links to
privilege are not having a common experience, having their own
privileged status. For their racial identity, it makes
uncomfortable and makes social and political changes throughout the
years. Privilege associated with wealth and economic status.
Privilege among athletes, individuals with higher education and
attraction in the same religious group make advantages in social
relationships when they have special knowledge, they receive
deference and higher comfort level makes more social interaction.
Privilege makes life simple the way things are. Privilege is a part
of reality helps to feel others experience, it brings
self-awareness and discipline among schools and colleges.
disciplinary practice helps to evaluate their own cultural values,
norms, collaboration with students and staff. cultural knowledge
supports the students. It address individual inequities in society,
it makes awareness and honest, personal perspective and contributes
against poverty, violence, isolation, and inequity.
