I have chosen a hair disease of my interest named androgenetic alopecia. it is a permanent hair loss from the scalp that can occur in both men and women. in men, a characteristic M-shaped male pattern baldness can be seen whereas in females, it rarely leads to total baldness rather thinning of hair all over the scalp can be seen.

2. No, androgenetic alopecia is not preventable. several factors are associated with the cause of androgenetic alopecia but the exact cause is unknown. factors associated are hormonal issues, ovarian cysts, menopause, taking high androgen index birth contraceptive pills.

3. Yes, one of my friends has androgenetic alopecia and he had taken topical minoxidil and oral finasteride.

4. The nursing care plan for androgenetic alopecia includes diet management. people with increased weight have hair loss problems. diet management includes - lesser or adequate vitamin A, protein and iron in higher amounts, etc.

The minoxidil scalp treatment is given to the patient.
