1. It is the oxidation of primary alcohol-ethanol using potassium dichromate give the acetic acid as the major product, the   potassium dichromate undergo the reduction and colour change of the reaction from yellow to blue due to Cr VI+ convert into to Cr III + along with the H2O.

a) The major product of this reaction is propyl methyl ether and NaI salt. It is SN2 type reaction.

b) It is possibility of O-acylation and C-acylation. It is an example of Friedal-Craft acylation and the Fries rearrangement incase the O-acylation. At the end phenolic OH direct the electrophilic substitution reaction as ortho and para product formation. The major product is 4-Hydroxy acetophenone and less yield of 2-hydroxy acetophenone.

c) It is diol oxidation using HIO4 give the aldehyde and ketone as major products with HIO3-
