Answer: The Kohlberg's stage theory of moral reasoning and generational theory is an extension version of Piaget's work. In which he explained the moral development of the children.

The stages includes:

  • Preconventional level: According to Kohlberg's theory, at this level the child's thinking capabilities regarding mortality is controlled. Children's thinking skills is totally controlled by their parents. At this stage, children judge people according to their actions.
  • Conventional level: This level of Theory, the individual's thinking ability for others is the result of his social and personal relationship.
  • Post conventional: The individual's perception is based upon his own values and principles.

This theory enables the healthcare professionals as well as patients to prevent themselves from wrong doings.

For example: A person is along with his friends and they offered him cigarette. But due to this conventional level, he will rejects as he knows his father did not like smoking.
