1. An example of simple carbohydrate is (glucose), that will increase blood sugar levels quickly because it is comprised of monosaccharides.

(monosaccharides are the simplest form of sugar which can not further be hydrolyzed, it can increase the sugar level of the blood quickly)

An example of a complex carbohydrate is (Starch), that will increase blood sugar levels slowly because it is comprised of polysaccharides.

(Polysaccharides comprised a long chain of carbohydrate which required further hydrolyzation to provide energy so, it slowly increases the blood sugar level)

Dietary fiber is also an important consideration when discussing the impact of carbohydrate sources on blood sugar levels. In this example, a candy bar is a poor source of fiber and whole-grain pasta or rice is a good source of fiber.
