Answer :

VSNF means Very safe normal form .

Falls in the elderly : it means during in the old age all physiological, psychological, neurological, functions may be altered due to aging.

* not only this but also all systematic functions may altered it may leads to injuries to the elderly.

* the main causes of falls and injuries in elderly includes

* environmental causes like poor ventilation or lightening, floors,steps,stairs, etc.

* Heart problems like hypotension, arrhythmias, and some medication side effects.

* musculo skeletal problems like arthritis, stiffness of joints, muscle weakness, etc.

* and we can see visual defects leads to falls,.

* and deaf and due to neurological defects slurred speech, confusion etc we will see.

* due to these all systematic changes increased incidence of falls may observes in elderly.

Decrease falls and injuries of both residents and employees :

* in residents we have to put side rails for bed.

* adequate supervision must be there.

* always along with residents one helping person will be there.

* both sides of stairs railings must be there.

* use commode chairs with support for toilet.

* provide adequate ventilation and light.

* staff must have adequate orientation and skills to the elderly.

* provide spectacles if they have any before going to be do anything.

* keep needed articles near to the residents.

* remove in necessary objects which will be cause for fall and injuries of residents like small chairs etc.

* apply some gait belt, these are will maintain posture and decreases the falls

* use restraints for semiconscious residents.

* help the employees in periodical health check ups.

* provide adequate ventilation and environmental support to employees.

* the first aid should be available.

* using safety precautions are necessary those are personal protective equipments, like googles, mask, gown, gloves, shoes, etc.

So by following all these things we can reduces the falls and injuries in elderly.
