Answer: Falls and injuries are most common in older people who are unable to takecare of themselves or have some or the injuries. Many people suffering from major illness are also more prone to falls and get injured.

To prevent falls and injuries, one must follow many precautions. Education is important as it will impart knowledge to the patient and his family about the management that can be done to prevent fall. As a nurse, we should takecare that there is sufficient light available for the Patient to see clearly. Remove the hazardous elements, which may come on his way. Patient should need to indunderst that without any help he should not try to walk if he is completely unable to balance himself. Calling bell should pe placed near by the patient's bed so that he may easily call someone. There should be no stairs near by Patient's room or cabin.
