Answer #1

Ans) 1) Concerns of a nurse stealing drugs was brought to my attention via email by her fellow colleague. Before taking discipline action and not just jumping to conclusions. I will investigate the situation to confirm if the nurse is actually taking drugs from the organization without permission.

- Hard evidence isneeded to go further with discipline actions. My investigation will range from “keeping a closer eye onthe workplace to putting marked notes in a till, carrying out computer audits, completing spot searches (which must be consented to) or moving people around at work”. If by chance it is proving the nurse is stealing, discipline actions will be taken and the severity of the lose of merchandisewill depend on if a suspension will be given or termination.

2) To screen employees for unhealthy behaviors, many wellness programs use a health risk appraisal as a first step. Health risk assessments collect information about clinical conditions, health-related behaviors, and medical history. In order to encourage employees to stop smoking and lose weight, I would look into promoting new incentives and policies such as adopting no-tobacco policies on and off the job, offering cash-incentive payments and gift cards. For example, the organization that I work for offers free gym membership to individuals at the YMCA and reduced family memberships. In addition, providing free health coaching, offering insurance-premium discounts to those who meet health standards and surcharges to those who refuse to meet standard set forth by the organization.
