The complete definition of health is stated by World Health Organization : Health is a state of complete physical , mental, and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Wellness
The quality or state of being in good health is called Wellness.
The process of learning about and engaging in behaviours that are likely to result in optimal health.
WHO defines wellness 'is an active process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life.'
Difference between health and wellness
The major difference for health and wellness is ; health is a state and wellness is an action to achieve the state( health). Wellness 'is an active process of becoming aware and making choices toward a healthy and fulfilling life'. Wellness includes health promoting activities. examples: quitting smoking or doing regular exercise to decrease hypertension.
Four lenses of Wellness
There are four areas of Wellness in people's life. The areas are 1. Physical : Healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, good exercise and rest
2. Emotional: Love your self and love others. Positive thinking about life and circumstances
3. Spiritual: They are the values of a person that help him to show humanity and brotherhood to fellowmen and love and dependency to a higher power.
4. Social: Good socialization and favourable and healthy attitude, actions towards community and country.
