1. The two performance goals of the Nursing Supervisor in the hospital is

  • To motivate the staff and maintain the nursing standard of care to improve quality of care.
  • Setting tasks and empower decision to meet the Organization's goals.

2. These two goals are specific within the field of nursing. Quality of care is ultimate for the hospital setting. Nurse is the one who provides care throughout the day. For improving the quality of care, nursing care should be improved to high standards. This can be measured by the number of discharges without any complications, length of stay of the patient in the hospital, number of readmissions, health outcomes, patient satisfaction, number of medical errors, adverse events within the specific period of time. The nursing supervisor has a clear vision on organizational goal, making a differentiation in decisions and relationship, flexibility with management help her to achieve her goal.

3. I would develop a plan of the number of small goals to achieve within the time schedule before attaining the main goal. Set a date to achieve each milestone and fulfill the task and thereby complete the main goal. I will put my hard work, sincerity, dedication, innovation to achieve the goal within the time schedule. Providing education and training to the nursing staff for improving the quality of care and appreciation of nurses who maintain high quality and avoids errors. Frequent supervision, providing appropriate nursing environment helps to improve nursing quality and care. Frequent meeting with the management, proper communication, alignment of patient needs, implementation of changes, optimum use of resources, helps to meet the organizational goal within the time frame.
