1, Sub-Saharan African population from 5 years up to 40 years having a big burden of mortality..Prospective observational studies help to assess population with diagnosed sickle cell disease..those who nor screened for SCD need more medical attention with this studies..Total 124 children with age group 6months to 3 years included in this study.This study provided clinical evidence of children with SCD in rural settings in Africa..They have splenomegaly 33%, hepatomegaly 20% among this age group,6% has positive malaria symptoms, LFT elevated ,39% children admitted and two died..
2, I have selected this sample population because in sub saharan Africa among 3,00,000 children every year three quarter births affected with SCD..this study helps to improve access to medical care,health education and socioeconomic development in African countries..
3, Sickle cell disease is a most common genetic haematological disorder..It has high incidence in low and middle-income countries mostly common in children before they reach their adulthood stage..To reduce the mortality under 5 years and to find out the cause,specific focus need to sustainable development goals to remove this burden..this study help to develop sustainable strategies to improve outcomes..This sample population selected for early screening to identify patients to provide therapeutic and family education and target for funding towards non communicable diseases in childhood..
