Ans) We know that the sleep disorders are very usual in the older individuals.And we know that when we are getting older at that time the sleep model and the patterns will become different , so at that time you may feel problems in dropping asleep, little hours of sleep, wake up many times suddenly in between the sleep.

Some of the important sleep disorders are Insomnia- problems in dropping to sleep, sleep apnea- short obtrusion In breathing at the time of sleep, RLS or Restless Leg Syndrome - immense requirement for the movement of legs and hands at the time of sleep, periodic limb movement disorder- Involuntary motion of legs and hands at the time of sleep, Circadian rhythm sleep disorder- interrupted sleep wake rotation.

For the diagnosis of this kind of sleep disorder, The physician will make a study on you on your symptoms and he/she will do a physical inspection.This is to understand the underlying situations.The doctors sometimes tell you to complete a sleep diary for around 2 or 3 weeks to understand about your sleeping models in detail.Mainly the sleep examination is conducted at night time in a sleep experimentation lab.You must be able to sleep as usual as at your house.The technicians will put sensors to detect your body behaviors like, Movements of body, brain efficiency, heart beat rates, breathing and snoring etc...

The medications can help the sleep disorder patients to get sleep, Melatonin is a kind of synthetic hormone which supports us to encourage sleep very faster and replace your sleep wake model.The Mayo Clinic suggested 0.1 to 5 mg around 1-2 hours before sleeping for various months in case of patients having the insomnia. But the Melatonin are not able to develop the sleep standard.
