Answer #1

Order dose aminophylline 5mg/kg/hr in a total of 50ml of fluid.

Patient weights 122lb (55.338 kg)

So, the patient needs 5mg/kg x 55.338 = 276.69mg/hr

After rounding it will be 276.7 mg/hr

a. medication is available as 250mg/10ml

it means 25mg/ml

So, 276.7mg + 25mg/ml = 11ml

Answer - 11 ml of medication will be added to fluids.

b.

Answer - 11 ml of fluid should be removed from a 50ml bag before adding the medication.

C.

d.

50ml - 60min=0.83ml/min

Answer - 0.83ml of the fluid patient will receive per minute.
