Doxycycline is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, including pneumonia and other respiratory tract infections; infections of the skin or eye; infections of the lymphatic, intestinal, genital, and urinary systems; and other infections caused by ticks, lice, mites, infected animals, or contaminated food and water.
Doxycycline is usually taken once or twice a day. Drink a full glass of water with each dose. There are chances to get the stomach upset when taking doxycycline, take it with food or milk.
Avoid dairy products like milk, cheese and yoghurt as Dairy products can stop body absorbing doxycycline.
Do not consume iron supplements, multivitamins, calcium supplements, antacids, or laxatives within 2 hours before or after taking doxycycline. Avoid taking any other antibiotics with doxycycline twithout doctor's order.. Doxycycline can cause sunburn more easily.,Avoid sunlight or tanning beds.
