Variable cost = (Cost at highest activity - Cost at lowest activity) /(Highest activity-Lowest activity)

= (5280 - 4680)/(17400-14400)

= 0.2

Fixed cost = 5280 - (17400*0.2) = 1,800

So,the equation will be y = 1,800 + 0.20X

Estimated cost for 16,500 miles

= 1,800 + (16,500*0.20)

= 5,100
