HEALTH OF SPECIAL POPULATIONS

Special populations: special populations are define as population susceptible to exposure to hazardous substances because of age , occupation , sex, or behaviours . or more sensitive children, pregnant women and older people .

  1. chronic ill and disable - people with chronic diseases
  2. low income /or home less
  3. old age groups
  4. single pregnant women
  5. individual with low education

these group of peoples experience poor health because unable to meet their health needs due to their economic status and health issues.

special populations experience poorer health these are the reasons

  • chronic illness or disable - these chronic ill population need high health care needs , they are depend on other for health care . unable to meet their needs themselfs. this results may cause poorer health out come and iprovement of their health condtion
  • disable people s are physical and psychological disable people - these people need special educations and special care . if these people are unable to get special care and special education may effect their health condition
  • low income or homeless - people with low income are unable to maintain their health by unable to get good food and shelter, and burden to buy medications and medical treatments these effect on their health. unable to meet their basic needs .
  • old age groups - old age group are vulnarable groups . they need special care to meet physical issues and psychological issues they are facing . unable to take care themselfs. they experience more health conditions by their age it will effect on their daily routine . old age groups having low immune status , it will take more time to solve their health issues
  • single parent or pregnant women- pregnant women are more vulnerable population their are more sensitive and more prone to get disease. during pregnancy these population has to get special care and regular check ups and different psychological condition of single parents are more to get diseases they have to meet their needs of children and unable to take care them selfs.
  • stress of single parents facing psychological issues may effect on their health .
  • individual with low education status - population with low education status may experience poor health outcomes because of lack of knowledge on health issues, proper diet, proper medication.

to overcome health issues of special population they need

  • special care by health care providers
  • special communitys
  • special education
  • special policys
  • improve the insurance
  • health education on these issues
