Are You At Risk For Dehydration?

Without food you could likely survive for days if not weeks. However, without water, you would only survive for a matter of days. Although water does not provide people with energy or calories as food does, it is essential to life and is often overlooked. Think about how much water you may or may not consume during an average day - is it enough? What do you drink? Water? Coffee? Juice? Soda?

Instead of providing calories and energy to the body the water is having its own specific roles and functions. The water in our bodies is essential for life. Without water, we can't survive. ... Water is involved in every bodily function from digestion and circulation through to the control of body temperature and the excretion of waste products.

Each and every cell in our body composed of water. The water maintains cell integrity and helps in maintains the shape.

I used to take compulsory a fluid minimum of 1800-2200 ml and includes all types of fluids includes plain waters, coffee/tea, milk, lemon juice, and other fruit juices according to the season.

Eg: During summer season I usually drink watermelon juice

Usually, I used to avoid packed juice, soda and most of the carbonated /soft drinks.

1. I am at 30, Health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon.

2. According to the prescribed daily recommendations, the fluid needs on a daily basis is 2000 liters. I am meeting the daily fluid needs.

3. I used to do exercise daily and results in sweating more or results in fluid loss and as well as nowadays the temperature is too hot and results in sweating than normal. I have to meet the daily demands of the body and meet the fluid loss I have to take adequate amount of water, the body needed.

4. It is not possible to meet fluid needs without drinking water. But we can survive without taking the water as in drinking form choose the other way that is eat water or eat hydration.

Hard Water

Hard water is water that has been untouched by any chemical process. Hard water is the most natural type of water and the closest thing to drinking rainfall. Before it reaches your tap, the water seeps through the ground where it is filtered by stones and mineral deposits. These make the water hard.

Advantages:

This type of water still contains all of the natural minerals. These minerals include but are not limited to, calcium; magnesium and iron. Research shows that the inclusion of these minerals within an individual’s water intake can be beneficial in fighting and preventing certain heart and cardiovascular diseases.

Disadvantages:

Some studies suggest a slight correlation with drinking hard water and children obtaining eczema. Although there is no concrete evidence to comprehensively conclude that there is a correlation.

Hard Water:

Soft water is hard water that has had its minerals removed through the process of ionization.

*Individuals who consume soft water on a regular basis will increase sodium, (salt) levels. Although sodium is a necessary part of a balanced diet excess increases cardiovascular health problems. Such problems include high blood pressure. The body naturally reacts to excess sodium through water retention. If somebody retains a constant amount of water, this increases their blood pressure as the heart works harder to supply blood to the body. The average person already consumes too much sodium; so drinking soft water will only increase this issue.

*Due to the chemicals added to hard water in order to make it soft, the water is more volatile. This leads to the water gaining unwanted elements as it flows through the pipes before it exits through your tap. Elements such as lead easily seep into the water, making drinking soft water even more dangerous. Lead can potentially harm blood cells and harm the process in which oxygen is carried to organs, muscles, and bone.

*Soft water in excess can also affect a human’s water levels. This not only affects the human as a whole but also individual cells. When these cells become dehydrated it hinders the process of water movement through cellular walls.

6.Pros of bottled water

*It is a good hydration solution on the go.

*It spells convenience.

*It can easily be stored.

* It has a great taste.

It guarantees cleanliness.

* It is safer to drink than tap water.

*It is highly available

Cons of bottled water:

* It is more expensive than tap water.

*It is not a money-saving option.

*It poses health risks due to the chemicals in plastic.

* It offers no difference with tap water in many cases.

* Bottled water can have similar (or even worse) quality than tap water.

*It has no fluoride.

* It poses many unfavorable environmental hazards.
