Research the organization to determine the organizational structure of the institution. If the organization is contacted directly, the public relations office may be a good place to start as it often has experience fielding questions from the public. It is not unusual for the website of the healthcare facility to have a list of divisions and departments or an organizational chart. Write a paragraph describing the organization. (10 points) Construct an organizational chart that includes management, medical staff, divisions and departments. Organization charts are a useful way to analyze structure. (Required for credit) Part 3 Instructions: • For each of the two organizations selected above, choose a healthcare profession relevant to the organization (i.e. a general surgeon in a hospital). Questions: o Go to at least three college, university or professional school websites for each healthcare profession and find out if any courses are required for the healthcare degree or certificate in computer technology, information systems, informatics, and/or electronic health records. Also, examine electives looking for the same topics. Document your findings. (15 points)
