Nurses extend and expand their roles in various areas of profession and practice. To be more influencial nurses must have the acquisition of adequate skills and knowledge which makes them to have a firm sound when they lobby.

Nurses decision making in the transcultural medicine and setting brings her to the quality individualised care to the patient.

To achieve the holistic care approach towards the patient requires the nurses to have some policies wereby they will be abided by certain set of conduct, principles and know their boundary. For this to happen nurses must be part of policy development model. The role what she plays are :

* she can influence the practice standards and process to implement the quality nursing care.

* it helps exactly to allow the relocation of resources for the health care delivery system  

* improving their leadership

* if the active participation is done by the nurses it would make them to have the holistic nursing care approach.

The policy meeting I attended was in my parent hospital wereby the academicians were invited and I witnessed that equal opportunities was given to the nurse educators in developing policies for the next nursing college based on the current scenarios and the professional growth.
