#. Watons theory of human caring states that nursing is defined by caring. Caring Science helps us to embrace the positive energy that flows from an integrated mind, body and spirit and is mutually rewarding to both the patient and the nurse.

Major elements of Watson's theory of human caring are :-

- carative factors

- transpersonal caring relationship

- caring movements

#. Being a psychiatric nurse we can use this theory in providing care in the following ways :-

- it helps to establish a caring relationship with the patients

- it helps to treat patient as holistic beings

- helps to display unconditional acceptance

- treats patient with positive regard

- promote health through knowledge and intervention

- helps to spend uninterrupted time with the patients.
