a. As the baby of Charlotte has macrosomia, there are chances that the complication of gestational diabetes mellitus will occur in the child.

The neonatal nurse must monitor for hypoglycemia which is a common metabolic disorder that can occur in the neonate.

The nurse should also monitor for hypocalcemia.

Hyperbilirubinemia is more frequently observed in infants born to diabetic mothers.

b. the nurse can prevent complications in the neonate by continuous monitoring. Finding the symptoms at the earliest. baby may need oxygen or a breathing machine to breathe better
