Finance departments regard nursing units as not being revenue generators. Why do you believe they are inaccurate in their assessment?
Answer: Finance departments regards nursing units as not being revenue generators because they consider the point as nursing staff directly do not earn or charge money. They don't generate money and they are being paid salary by the healthcare organization. Not like as physician they charge their fees and hence they are considered to be not a revenue generator.
But at present it can not be considered that nurses can not generate revenue because alone physician can not takecare of the patients, it is a nurse who take proper care of the patients. So, indirectly they serve to the healthcare organization.
