Answer #1

Euthanasia in simple is also called as Physician Assisted Suicide where a medical support is received to end a life who can survive only six months or less than that due to certain terminal illness.

A patient may want a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) order in order to have a peaceful death without any life saving or aggressive procedure like (CPR,ventilator support, etc.,) during a critical situations like cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest ,etc.,The main reason is the patient who is already weak doesn't want any harsh treatment on them.

The factors to consider when identifying the position on the right to die are

  • Terminal illness
  • People going to die in less than six months
  • Brain dead or in a vegetative state whose organs can be used if donated under legal rights.
  • The patient who can be survived with medical help and if aggrevates the condition with medical treatment.
