Answer #1

An IV infusion of trimethaphan is administered to a child weighing 75 pounds 0.1 mg/min per kilogram

=34.09 kgX 0.1=3.40 mg/min

Then for 1 hours or 60 min=60X3.40=204 mg of trimethaphan will be administered during a one-hour infusion.

The recommended initial dose=1.5 mg for each kilogram of body mass.

Weighs 209 pounds=95 kg

95X 1.5 mg=142.5 mg

Acetozolamide administered intravenously four times a day, with each dose containing 250 mg of acetozolamide.

Means 250 mg will be required

If the solution has a concentration of 50 mg/ml, how many milliliters are required for a single dose?

Then in ml 250 mg=5ml

Chlorothiazide average oral dose consists of 500 mg.

Suppose a patient is given chlorothiazide suspension that has a concentration of 50 mg/ml.

How many complete doses are contained in a 237 ml bottle?

237 ml means=237x50 mg=11850mg

Doses required in no.=11850/500=2.37 doses

dose of 50 mg/day is recommended for adults

. If each tablet contains 25 mg of ethacrynic acid, and there are 72 tablets in a bottle,

72x25        =1800 mg

1800mg/50=36 doses= means for 36 days

The daily adult dosage of spironolactone for hypertension can be as much as 100 mg/day, divided into two doses.

A bottle of spironolactone contains 160 identical tablets/40=4 tablets per day.

4 tablets per day=100 mg

then each tablet will have =100/4=25 mg in each tablet.
