-- To examin the extent to which Chinese-Australian women integrate western medicine practices in their health seeking behavior,A qualitative study was conducted,which involves in-depth interviews in cantonese with 20 women.Although adherence to western health believes and practices varied,in general these Australian women's sought medical help only after they felt un well.

-- Acceptance and denial: implications for people adapting to chronic illnesses- This paper reports an exploration of the terms acceptance and denial by exploring the literature,with the aim of understanding the implications of using these concepts to categorize people's responses to living with chronic illness.

-- Understanding men's health and illness:gender-relations appoch to policy,research and practice:-Men's health has emerged as an important public concern that may require new kinds of health care interventions and increased resources.considerable uncertainty and confusion surround prevailing understandings of men's health,particularly those generated by media debate and public policy,and health research has often operated on oversimplified assumptions about men and masculinity.A more useful way of understanding men's health is to adopt a gender relation approach.This means examining health concerns in the context of mens and women interactions with each other,and their position in the larger multidimensional structure of gender relations.
