PATHOPHYSIOLOGY: intracellular lipase undergoes a reaction which is inhibited by insulin which results in inhibition of breakdown of fat in adipose tissue. Insulin allows glucose in cells and in these cells glycerol is synthesized by glucose.

TREATMENT: diabetes cannot be cured but can be prevented by maintaining a proper diet, by regular monitoring of blood sugar level, by taking insulin therapy and by doing exercise.
