Recently through my clinical rounds, I experienced a patient detox from meth. As they were withdrawing from their addiction the behavior became very violent, impulsive and aggressive. I was scared to even talk to the patient at first. I saw the patient try and hit a fellow patient. I didn't know what could set the patient off like that. I observed for a while and tried to pick up on why the patient acted in such a vulgar manner. Even though I feared her and my safety, I realized it was just her defense mechanism for having to be in inpatient care. I didn't address her behavior with her, but I did address her positive behavior. After she started meds and had meth out of her system, I let her know she was fun to be around with and her laugh was contagious. She did believe me, and the staff helped validate the positive bphavior change. She even noticed how well she was doing and it was a neat experience seeing how far she came in her treatment. I don't think my ievel of tolerance would interfere with my ability to care for a cient in a clinical situation. Finishing my clinical round at Prairie has taught me how to approach patients who have several different behaviors. I was scared at first, but all the fear is gone now. Behaviors steam from so many background situations, it's hard from an outside viewer to even relate to whac they are going through. At the end of the day, we are all humans who have goals in life, and sometimes people hit a bigger bump in the road that takes a group of people to help repair it so they can get back on track.

This paragraph differentiates how a healthcare professional handles a psychiatric patient and physically ill patient.The psychiatric patient always has a fear on seeing others and as a way of self protection they may express anger,violence .The healthcare professionals at this stage should realize the patient symptoms and give them a positive energy and induce their self belief and confidence to calm down.They should not treat them harshly either verbally or physically, doing so will further aggrevate their symptoms. The paragraph also clearly describes the humanism onnthe world by providing an example when people hit a bigger bump in road ,fello being come for help to put them back on track.Similarly the medical professionals are also helping a patient who has lost their basic function yo return to normal.
