*Interoperability means that different systems working together so that a desired or an expected end result or a purpose is achieved.

*An electronic record of health-related information on an individual that conforms to nationally recognized interoperability standards and can be created, managed and consulted by authorized clinicians and staff across more than one healthcare organization.

*The type of information such as patient demographic data, and clinical health information like medical history, and problem reported by the patient the EHR system store for patients.

*Type of information such as clinical decision support, support physician order entry, capture and query information relevant to health care quality, exchange EHR info and be able to integrate information from other sources. the EHR system store for physicians.

*Interoperability is so important because it ensures that doctors, surgeons, and other medical providers have the information that they need in order to provide sufficient care.

A complex health care system requires a diverse electronic health record (EHR) products. To realize their full potential, EHR products must be able to share information seamlessly. An interoperable health IT environment makes this possible.

EHR Interoperability enables better workflows and reduced ambiguity and allows data transfer among EHR systems and health care stakeholders. Ultimately, an interoperable environment improves the delivery of health care by making the right data available at the right time to the right people.
