Answer #1

Answer 14) First is to make the environment around the patient soothing all the time I.e. no use of phones, pager, and no sudden noise. This will control the agitated behaviour and will help the patient to make better communication with the support workers. Secondly, in case of extreme episodes of agitation patient can be administered with the anti-psychotic drugs which will make her calm and protect the patient and support workers from any physical risk.

Answer 15) Strategies like isolation and forcing her to stay in her room are inappropriate for Naomi. This makes her more agitated and it may harm her physically and mentally. She must be explained in a clear and concise manner that what and why the particular practice is been performed on her by the support worker.

Answer 16) It is important to interpret and follow the Naomi’s intervention plans when they are updated because this will give him the idea about extent upto which these intervention strategies are useful in making Naomi’s condition better. It will also help him to make appropriate changes in the intervention strategies when they stop working.

Answer 17) Maahir can make sure that Naomi’s individualised support plan are in order by observing positive changes in the behaviour of Naomi. By following these strategies Naomi will become more supportive toward the support worker and her physical and mental health will improve as a result of these intervention strategies.
