percentage of the first cresol solution= (volume of pure liquid/ total volume of the solution) X 100

= (20/220) X 100

= 9.09 %

how many mL of the cresol solution would be needed to prepare 100 ml of 2% cresol solution.

S1 V1= S2 V2

9.09 X V1= 2 X 100

V1= 200/9.09

= 20 mL
